Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Dart Container. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of tractors and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Properly diagnose and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers, including gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, drivetrain, suspension, chassis, and electrical systems.
  • Disassemble, examine parts for defects and excessive wear, recondition and replace parts.
  • Drive tractors and trailers as needed to validate that repairs meet regulatory requirements and conform to safety standards.
  • Operate Electronic Log Device (ELD), ELD software, and maintain accurate records per local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements:
  • 21 years of age with valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver License)
  • High School diploma with two (2) years of related experience, or Associate degree with an emphasis in Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, or related field of study
  • Favorable driving record upon hiring and ability to maintain throughout duration of employment
  • Must meet all requirements to be Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified
