Job Summary:
As a Patient Services Coordinator IV at The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your primary responsibility will be to process referrals and perform Dimensions super-user functions, such as practice support with EPIC or working the miscellaneous work queues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with all levels of clinic staff and visitors.
- Greets and assists visitors to the department.
- Answers all incoming telephone calls and provides accurate information as needed.
- Attends assigned meetings and contributes positively to serve as communication ambassadors for the organization.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of experience in a medical office setting required.
- Knowledge of medical office software, including updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments.
- Understanding of CPT and ICD9-CM coding processes.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with changing priorities.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Working Conditions:
The job requires frequent sitting and standing, occasional walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive arm, hand, and finger movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
