The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of New Life Center's campus and Hope's Closet store facilities. This includes plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating, cooling, laundry, and other building systems. The goal of this position is to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for New Life Center employees and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on campus and store facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Manage the care and upkeep of landscaping on site.
- Respond to maintenance work requests and complete tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work on campus and store facilities.
- Conduct periodic inspections of premises to determine repair work as necessary and complete related documentation.
- Accomplish work within established time frames and maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Correctly store and maintain equipment, following safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain work areas in an orderly and organized manner.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and productive environment.
- Perform a variety of labor-related tasks and other assignments as needed.
- May serve as New Life Center's point of contact for on-site vendors and facilities-related needs.
- Perform preventive maintenance to increase the efficiency and operating life of all equipment, buildings, and infrastructural systems.
- Monitor utility usage and maintain effective working relationships with vendor contractors.
The Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for:
- Participating as an active team member of New Life Center's facilities program.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the entire campus.
- Responding to security, fire, and maintenance issues or alarms on and off duty hours and reporting to the appropriate member of leadership.
- Working cooperatively and collaboratively with a diverse group of staff and residents who have exposure to trauma.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to 2 years of general facilities maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and related systems.
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety codes and regulations.
- A valid Arizona driver's license and insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
- Currently possess or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
- Consent to participate in New Life Center's criminal history background check for Determination for Suitability to Interact with Minors.
- CPR/1st Aid/Bloodborne Pathogen Certified.
- Negative TB test required.
- COVID-19 Vaccination or approved exception.
- Knowledge of personal computers and various software programs, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary or required.
