Job Summary

Our Home Inc is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the daily activities of up to 50 employees in our snack food plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and process knowledge, with the ability to make sound business decisions and lead a team to achieve production and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Employee Safety and Training: Coach employees on safe work practices and ensure compliance with food safety and GMP regulations.
  2. Production Planning and Scheduling: Support adherence to production schedules, distribute crewing, and work with team members to reach budgeted line rates and prevent out-of-specification production.
  3. Team Leadership and Problem-Solving: Accountable for team problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution. Ensure progress reports are completed in a timely manner and facilitate communication between shifts and teams.
  4. Emergency Response and Compliance: Act as on-shift representative for emergency response coordination and compliance with company policies, including drug/alcohol, attendance, and EEO.
  5. Customer Requirements and Quality Assurance: Assist in meeting customer requirements through communication, documentation, and training of team members. Ensure adherence to sanitation guidelines and GMP's, including the HACCP program.
  6. Process Improvement: Improve processes by following lean manufacturing concepts, company values, and culture. Strive to improve each work process and support the identification of value-added and cost-saving activities and projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three plus years of manufacturing-related experience in a lead role, or five plus years in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of database software, ADP, Excel spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
  • Manufacturing and process knowledge, sound judgment capabilities, lean manufacturing knowledge and skills, and working knowledge of workplace safety and GMP regulations.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions, keen attention to detail, written and spoken communication skills, and ability to evaluate problems and make efficient decisions.
  • Strong leadership and effective management skills to direct employees in efficient operations and effectively perform root cause analysis.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Manufacturing plant environment, must move/lift up to 50 lbs, warm/humid environment, and must be able to work off-shifts and be flexible with scheduling.
