The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking dedicated Facilities Maintenance Associates to cover morning and afternoon shifts. These essential team members perform a variety of tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within our facilities, adhering to established protocols on a designated schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a range of mechanical cleaning equipment, including vacuums, buffers, carpet extractors, and pressure washers.
- Ensure the facility remains sanitary and free from infections by washing, cleaning, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Disinfect high-touch areas daily as requested or during peak seasons (e.g., flu season).
- Prepare and dilute commercial-grade cleaning solutions, calculating the necessary amounts based on the area.
- Dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials as required.
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, restocking supplies as needed.
- Maintain paper supplies and soap in dispensers when necessary.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, disinfect, and vacuum floors, stairwells, elevators, and related areas. Strip, wax, and polish floors as needed.
- Dust and polish furniture, tabletops, file cabinets, bookcases, and other wooden surfaces.
- Wash and clean walls, ceilings, doors, and windows.
- Clean ceiling fixtures such as lights, radiators, and HVAC registers as needed or according to schedule.
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets, rugs, and upholstery.
- Clean accessible interior and exterior windows as required, following a schedule or upon request.
- Provide coverage in additional areas when colleagues are absent.
- Report any necessary building repairs or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Comply with all regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 6 months of prior custodial experience is preferred.
West Liberty University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including approximately 2 days of annual leave (vacation) per month and 12-13 paid holidays. Employees and their dependents are eligible for a 100% waiver for undergraduate tuition, while employees qualify for a 50% waiver for graduate tuition in select programs.
