Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Additive Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of additive manufacturing processes, working closely with our principal additive engineer, program management, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Create and manage new manufacturing processes as needed, providing guidance on Bills of Materials and process routings in support of manufacturing operations and quotations.
- Troubleshoot causes of rejected parts and problems in manufacturing using knowledge of GD&T and precision measuring instruments.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with internal teams, reviewing drawings, 3D models, and specifications to facilitate manufacturability.
- Develop and maintain various documentation, including customer-specific requirements, non-disclosure agreements, routings, and Bill of Materials.
- Assist in designing and managing the fabrication or acquisition of fixtures used in various processes, ensuring successful implementation on the production floor.
- Participate in and lead problem-solving teams utilizing lean manufacturing methods.
- Collaborate with Operations Analysts to ensure data is available, monitored, and reported with a consistent approach, supporting implementation of management systems at the site level.
- Support the development of processes to deliver site annual and strategic objectives, including OEE and VAPD performance, productivity, capacity planning, and capital investment.

- Participate in required training to support site goals, objectives, and program management milestones, occasionally authoring work instructions for new processes.
- Support the definition of One Orchid processes as defined by the Director, Operations Excellence Transformation, implementing best practices as they are defined.
- Work with the Lead Change Agent - Manager, Operations Excellence Transformation, Orchid to ensure goals and objectives of the site transformation program are communicated at the site level.
- Provide support to team members to ensure they have the required knowledge and skills prior to performing job duties.
- Ensure key program implementation milestones are understood, communicated, and aligned.
- Participate in planning objectives, evaluating complex, special, and advanced engineering tasks.
- Plan, conduct, and coordinate engineering assignments as directed by the Engineering Manager or Director.
- Investigate and advise on unusual and difficult problems encountered in an engineering practice.
- Mentor shop employees on improvements to manufacturing methods, products, and new production equipment.
- Assist in creating programs, such as Laser Marking programs, 3D models, associate fixtures, drawings, templates, etc.
- Assist in creating Standard Work Instructions for various operations and occasionally collaborate with Quality Control Inspectors.
- Interact and communicate with customers to inform them of critical details on new product launches.
- May provide technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians assigned to work on a common project.
- Perform and assist in validations and revalidations as necessary, creating protocols.
- Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Engineering (Required)

- 5+ Years of Engineering Experience (Required)
- 7+ Years of Engineering Experience (Preferred)
- 2+ Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)
- Experience Operating CNC Equipment/Machining (Preferred)

- Exposure to integrated business planning (Sales & Operations Planning process), quality system deployment, and lean manufacturing in an industrial setting (Preferred)
