Job Title: Platform Automation Specialist

Job Summary:
Apex Systems is seeking a skilled Platform Automation Specialist to contribute to the design and implementation of a software engineering culture that unifies Application Development and Operations. The ideal candidate will assist in engineering solutions that maximize the throughput of code releases through automated, secure, and portable tools and functions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the analysis, design, and development of technical specifications, programming, and testing of DevOps components.
2. Engage in design and scripting reviews to ensure adherence to enterprise programming standards and guidelines. Assist in creating or updating enterprise standards when gaps are identified.
3. Support team members in issue resolution, scalability metrics, integration issues, and critical production issues as required.
4. Follow technology best practices and standards, escalating issues as appropriate. Adhere to architecture and design best practices as guided by the Senior Engineer, Lead DevOps Engineer, and Architectural team.
5. Assist in configuration and scripting to implement fully automated infrastructure provisioning, image builds, and instance deployment capabilities.
6. Follow standard change control and configuration management practices.
7. Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation in support of the platform.

Requirements:
1. Drive and desire to automate repeatable processes.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to collaborate with teams across the organization.
3. Experience in DevOps practices, infrastructure, and scripting/programming.
4. Linux/Unix OS experience.
5. Kubernetes experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. KCNA, CKA, and/or CKAD certification.
2. Experience working with Kubernetes in an enterprise environment.
3. Working knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Azure, Rancher), container concepts (e.g., Docker), infrastructure deployment tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Terraform), and CI/CD tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
