Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide welcoming and professional service to library patrons, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Material Management: Assist with checking in and processing library materials, shelving books, and maintaining a clean and organized library environment.
  • Payment Processing: Accept and process fines, fees, and other payments in a secure and efficient manner.
  • Program Promotion: Promote library programs, events, and services to patrons, highlighting the benefits and value of our offerings.
  • Patron Support: Assist patrons with locating materials, using computers, and explaining library procedures.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with patrons, staff, and management, ensuring a positive and respectful work environment.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years of library experience preferred.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of library systems and databases; excellent customer service skills; good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Language: Multilingual speaking a plus.
  • Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
