Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Socio-Cultural Analyst to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for performing all-source analytic products of socio-cultural elements within a region, human terrain, and human geography (HG).

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform socio-cultural analysis of regions, human terrain, and human geography (HG) to identify key trends and patterns.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in sociology, cultural anthropology, demography, psychology, geography, economics, and political science.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in situational awareness, intelligence production, and analysis involving specific countries of interest.
  • Collaborate with members of the intelligence community (IC) and Open-Source Libraries to identify and acquire information and sources required for the analytic process.
  • Develop and maintain geospatial datasets from all available sources in community interoperable formats and inform the process for organizing the information in viable databases.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) and user guides for HG modeling for common Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) software platforms.
  • Determine appropriate datasets and recommendations on weighting factors for various variables or indicators.
  • Develop educational seminars for onsite personnel and an online tutorial on the modeling capability of the Situational Awareness Tools (SAT).
  • Develop or modify models as required, while developing additional best practice methods for exposing or optimizing existing results via Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant web services.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in performing socio-cultural analysis.
  • Experience with common Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) software platforms.
  • Knowledge of all-source analytic production of standard and non-standard HG.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and IC boundaries and clearly articulate findings.
  • Ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
