Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist PRN at AdventHealth, you will be part of a team that provides evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Your expertise will be essential in assessing patients, developing care plans, and implementing and monitoring patient care equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS) credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) from NBRC preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
