Job Summary

This is a full-time, 12-month, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position responsible for providing administrative support to the Nursing Department at The University of Findlay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records, files, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and events, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, reports, and other documents, utilizing strong writing and editing skills.
  • Assist with special projects, such as accreditation and admissions, and provide support to the Student Nursing Association and nursing honor society.
  • Manage departmental mail, including processing and distributing correspondence, packages, and other materials.
  • Schedule appointments for faculty and staff, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Collaborate with other university departments to coordinate services and support for students and faculty.
  • Participate in departmental and university events, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including computers, printers, and other office machinery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One year of administrative experience, with a focus on customer service and record-keeping.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to learn and grow.
Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional office environment, with regular interaction with students, faculty, and staff. The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary is required. Walking at least one mile per week to perform tasks such as collecting mail and distributing it to departmental mailboxes is also necessary.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may supervise work-study students, graduate, and teaching assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion of tasks and projects.
