Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Paid-On-Call Fire Fighter. As a member of our fire department, you will play a critical role in providing fire and rescue services to the residents of the City of Walker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide fire and rescue services to residents of the City of Walker.
  • Assist the fire department in providing emergency medical services, including patient care and transportation.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with other emergency responders and city staff to ensure effective and efficient response to emergencies.
  • Meet the physical and mental demands of the job, including working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Requirements
  • Be a resident of the City of Walker or live within a 3.5-mile radius of the nearest fire station.
  • Be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid Michigan driver's license with no restrictions.
  • Have a clean driving record and no criminal record.
  • Be available to attend a minimum of two training sessions per month and one Sunday morning duty per month.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Availability to respond to calls during the day.
