Position Overview: The Mortgage Loan Originator plays a pivotal role in generating, negotiating, and facilitating the origination and closing of mortgage loans while adhering to Arbor Bank's lending standards. This position is vital in establishing and nurturing relationships that drive new residential mortgage business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain referral relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and other potential sources to generate new business.
  • Manage customer interactions throughout the loan process, from application to closing, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold company standards in all interactions.
  • Stay informed about local real estate market trends and mortgage industry regulations.
  • Gather and assess customer financial information to determine suitable mortgage products.
  • Provide guidance on the advantages and disadvantages of various loan options.
  • Negotiate loan terms and conditions, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected.
  • Regular attendance and participation in work activities are essential.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator with a stable work history.
  • Established network for lead generation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong understanding of banking compliance regulations.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and judgment skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the mortgage industry.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with mortgage software such as SimpleNexus and Encompass.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain NMLS certification.

Work Environment: The role involves both office-based and remote work, with no adverse environmental conditions expected.

Physical Requirements: This position primarily involves sedentary work, requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing and effective communication with clients and colleagues.
