Delaware Park Casino & Racing seeks a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our outlet.
About the RoleWe are looking for a creative and organized individual with at least four years of culinary experience, preferably in a hospitality or entertainment facility. The ideal candidate will have two years of supervisory experience and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
About the JobAs an Executive Sous Chef, you will be responsible for creating a fun-filled and entertaining environment where service excellence is paramount. Your key duties will include menu development and implementation, preparation and presentation of all menu items, monitoring and maintenance of equipment and sanitation, and inventory control.
You will also be responsible for providing effective ordering to meet business needs, working with the Executive Chef on menu development, and establishing new and innovative menu items and specials. Additionally, you will develop comprehensive training manuals, implement intensive and continued training for staff, and ensure total quality and quantity control for all products received in the outlet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a fun-filled and entertaining environment where service excellence is paramount.
- Develop and implement menus that meet business needs and customer expectations.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, sanitation, and cleanliness of the outlet.
- Control inventory, manage product flow, and rotate products to ensure quality and freshness.
- Provide effective ordering to meet business needs.
- Work with the Executive Chef on menu development and implementation.
- Establish new and innovative menu items and specials.
- Develop comprehensive training manuals and implement intensive and continued training for staff.
- Ensure total quality and quantity control for all products received in the outlet.
Requirements:
- Four years of culinary experience, preferably in a hospitality or entertainment facility.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to employee concerns and sensitive department information.
- Maintains established company and departmental uniform, appearance, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Experience with P.O.S. systems and PC-related systems.
Salary Range:$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience
This is a full-time position, and the salary range is based on industry standards for this role in the Delaware area. The actual salary offered may vary based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
