The Senior Credit Underwriter plays a crucial role in evaluating and interpreting credit data for existing and prospective borrowers. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that all loan documentation is thorough and adheres to bank policies.
  2. Analyze financial documents, including income statements, tax filings, and credit reports.
  3. Evaluate the overall cash flow of commercial clients and individual borrowers.
  4. Monitor and manage loan compliance with established reporting covenants, including the documentation of necessary financial statements.
  5. Conduct assessments on a variety of collateral types.
  6. Support lending teams in structuring suitable loan agreements.
  7. Collaborate with lending officers to draft credit memorandums for various loan applications.
  8. Work alongside senior credit officers to conduct annual evaluations of significant borrowers.
  9. Assist the Chief Credit Officer in maintaining regulatory compliance.
  10. Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, along with 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis within a financial setting. Relevant educational training should focus on finance, economics, or accounting.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience in credit analysis and related terminology.
  • Basic understanding of state and federal banking regulations and operational policies.
  • Proficient in computer operations, including advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong mathematical abilities, including time value of money calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to interpret documents and convey information clearly.
  • Adept at resolving complex issues involving multiple variables.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance, if driving is required for job duties.
