Job Summary

The Substance Use Treatment Clinician plays a critical role in providing comprehensive clinical services to clients assigned to their care. This position requires a high level of expertise in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in daily collaboration with team members to assist in care planning for patients
  • Provide substance use and mental health treatment in individual, group, and intensive outpatient program settings
  • Conduct and document individual assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide treatment utilizing evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including the Treatment and Recovery Courts, to provide comprehensive care
Requirements
  1. Education: Master's degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
  2. License/Certifications: Maine State licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required
  3. Experience: Two or more years' work experience in a substance abuse or mental health treatment setting is preferred
  4. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of social work/counseling theories, therapies, and techniques, as well as principles of social welfare, is required
