Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and capabilities of the Passenger Rail & Transit Group.
- Oversee the creation of civil engineering and track design documentation, including plans, specifications, quantities, and design calculations.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members.
- Direct the execution of civil engineering and track design tasks, focusing on horizontal and vertical geometry and modeling using InRoads and/or OpenRoads / OpenRail Designer software.
- Lead the design of track alignments, including the analysis of survey data and regression analysis.
- Prepare detailed specifications for special trackwork to facilitate procurement and installation.
- Occasionally conduct inspections and fieldwork as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Six to twelve years of relevant experience in the field.
- A strong interest in learning about track design and railroad systems engineering.
- Experience in track and/or highway alignment design for transportation projects.
- Background in multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
- Proficiency in Microstation, InRoads, OpenRoads / OpenRail, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative team environments.
