Job Summary:

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse III to join our Observation Unit team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care and assume leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population, utilizing advanced clinical skills and knowledge to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assume leadership roles, including charge nurse responsibilities, to promote a culture of excellence and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based practice initiatives, improving patient care and outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor department staff in areas of clinical and professional practice, promoting growth and development.
  • Participate in unit and shared governance activities, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and staff satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • Advanced clinical skills and knowledge in a specialty area, such as critical care or emergency nursing.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
