Team Overview

The Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering team is focused on developing automated platforms and solutions aimed at optimizing the AWS build and deployment processes in dedicated regions.

Our goal is to achieve complete automation and facilitate zero-touch AWS deployments, which will significantly decrease the time required to launch new features, allowing engineers to concentrate on innovating new services and capabilities.

Cutlass is responsible for developing and managing services that enhance the operational experience for builders at Amazon. We provide ticket notifications from isolated regions and create platforms that ensure data is accessible for other tools, thereby minimizing operational inconsistencies across different regions.

Security Clearance

This position requires the selected candidate to possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. Furthermore, the candidate must obtain and uphold an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or an equivalent clearance for each government agency involved in AWS work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of new feature development, managing system components from design through implementation, deployment, and operations.
  • Enhance systems that assist our internal customers in delivering superior service to their clients.
  • Collaborate with senior and principal engineers to ensure your designs meet customer requirements.
  • Participate in on-call duties, serving as the first line of defense against system issues and escalating as necessary.
QualificationsBasic Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture.
  • Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux/Unix systems.
  • Current active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience in building production-level services using AWS infrastructure.
