Job Summary

Restoration Forest Products is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our heavy machinery and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections on diesel engines, heavy machinery, and vehicles to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems, including electrical and hydraulic systems, to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, to extend the lifespan of our equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize equipment performance and efficiency, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a forestry or heavy equipment environment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
