Job DescriptionPosition: Lubrication Technician
Reports to: Site Maintenance & Reliability Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Overview: The Lubrication Technician will be responsible for maintaining and servicing lubrication systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on lubrication systems for sawmill, planer mill, and EWP machinery, including pumps, reservoirs, and lines.
- Regularly inspect and diagnose lubrication-related issues in equipment such as saw blades, planers, and presses. Implement solutions to address these issues promptly.
- Apply and manage lubricants according to manufacturer specifications and company standards to prevent wear and maintain optimal performance of sawmill and planer mill machinery.
- Maintain detailed records of lubrication activities, including service schedules, lubricant usage, and equipment condition. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Adhere to safety regulations and environmental policies during lubrication tasks. Ensure proper handling and disposal of lubricants to minimize environmental impact.
- Work closely with maintenance teams and production staff to address lubrication needs, enhance equipment reliability, and reduce downtime in operations.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing lubrication system failures and provide recommendations for system improvements to enhance overall machinery efficiency.
- Monitor lubricant inventory levels for sawmill, planer mill, and EWP operations. Order and restock supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Requirements:
- Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Proven experience as a Lubrication Technician or in a similar role, preferably within a sawmill, planer mill, or EWP environment.
- Strong knowledge of lubrication systems, types of lubricants, and maintenance practices specific to sawmill machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment specifications.
- Proficiency in using lubrication tools and diagnostic equipment relevant to the sawmill industry.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to work effectively with production and maintenance teams.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standard safety protocols.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas within the sawmill.
