Position Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and operational readiness of the JCC facilities, adhering to established protocols.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Executes cleaning and sanitization tasks throughout the premises.
  • Disinfects restrooms and kitchen areas effectively.
  • Conducts window cleaning, floor sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Prepares spaces for meetings and educational sessions, and organizes them post-use.
  • Handles laundry duties, including washing towels with appropriate machines.
  • Maintains cleanliness of outdoor environments.
  • Empties waste, recycling, and compost bins both indoors and outdoors.
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
  • Opens and/or secures the building as necessary.
  • Moves equipment and furniture as required.
  • Assists in identifying safety hazards and maintenance needs, reporting them to the Facilities Director.
  • Completes other assigned tasks as needed.
Compensation: Starting at $18.00 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of proper cleaning methodologies.
  • Awareness of safety hazards and correct usage of cleaning and sanitizing agents.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on thoroughness.
  • Proficient in operating cleaning and laundry machinery.
  • Able to maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the facility.
  • Effective and respectful communication skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English.
Salary:

$18.00 per hour.
