Senior Medical Associates Seeks Psychiatrist for Crisis Stabilization Unit

We are seeking a skilled psychiatrist to join our team at the 23-hour Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) at Palomar Health in San Diego. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to an underserved population, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide initial, follow-up, and discharge services at the CSU, as well as supervision of a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
  • Perform consultations in the hospital ER, working closely with a peer hospital consult psychiatrist, psychiatric social workers, psychiatric nurses, and other specialty providers.
  • Care for a diverse range of adult patients in crisis, including those with involuntary and voluntary status, novel neuropsychiatric presentations, chronic mental illness, and substance use disorders.
Requirements:
  • ABPN Board Certification in Psychiatry or eligibility for certification.
  • Active, unrestricted California Medical and DEA licenses.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Work Schedule:

Shifts are 8 hours in duration, delivered in-person. We are currently hiring for Sundays and some Saturday shifts.
