About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Hygiene Specialist/Ergonomics Expert to join our team at 3M. As an Industrial Hygienist/Ergonomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead incident investigations to identify and mitigate potential health risks to employees
  • Develop and implement comprehensive industrial hygiene programs, including hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Manage all Industrial Hygiene (IH/Ergonomics) related internal company requirements, including Global Safety and Health Plan (GSHP) elements
  • Conduct personal sampling to determine potential impact from environmental factors
  • Develop and conduct IH/Ergonomics-related training
  • Conduct Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) investigations and determine appropriate remediation
  • Review new chemical compositions and equipment entering the facility for IH/Ergonomics concerns
  • Provide assistance and visit sites regionally (15-25% of the time)
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Science from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years of combined experience working in an Industrial Hygiene, Safety and/or Ergonomics position in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Additional qualifications include a Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Public Health or related discipline from an accredited institution, Certified Ergonomics Assessment Certification, American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or willingness to obtain within the first 18 months of employment at 3M, experience in a plant manufacturing environment, experience in investigation of IAQ issues, experience with an IH/Ergonomics data management program, ability to work in a team atmosphere, strong communication skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency
Work Environment

This position is located in Hutchinson, MN, and may require up to 25% domestic travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized.
