Purpose of the Role

A Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairing production equipment as required, while working with the team to complete electrical and mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain production equipment to maximize operating performance and assist with maintaining electrical spare parts' inventory levels.
  • Perform repairs on equipment to restore them to proper and safe work conditions.
  • Perform installation, setup, modification, and relocation of equipment to accommodate or improve production requirements.
  • Read and write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Ensure the production schedule is not jeopardized due to machine breakdown or unsafe operating conditions.
  • Always follow the LOCK OUT/ TAG OUT procedure on unsafe machines/machines being serviced.
  • Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems by filling in required forms and organize the workplace to comply with housekeeping requirements.
  • Perform preventive/predictive maintenance to all production equipment as required.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment with multiple priorities.
  • A certificate from a technical trade school or military experience in lieu of or related subject.
Desired Skills
  • Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
  • Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat, etc.) and electric circuitry consisting of contactors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches, and proximity sensors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
