Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Portfolio Manager to join our commercial banking team at CFG Bank. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting relationship managers by facilitating the underwriting and monitoring of existing and proposed credits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Management: Prepare Loan Summary/Top Sheet, liaising with various stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Department Manager, and Credit Department for new loan requests and renewals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Credit Analysis: Manage maturing loans, preparing extension requests promptly and conducting credit analyses accurately to facilitate timely decision-making.
  • Loan Reviews: Coordinate annual term loan reviews, collaborating closely with the Credit Department to ensure timely and precise assessments.
  • Loan Approval: Participate in the loan approval process as required, contributing insights and expertise to enhance decision quality.
  • Loan Documentation: Maintain updated loan files with relevant financial information and memos, facilitating comprehensive and satisfactory loan reviews.
  • Compliance: Prepare responses to internal audits and loan reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Risk Management: Assist in managing Criticized Asset Reports promptly and accurately, supporting effective risk management practices.
  • Covenant Compliance: Coordinate covenant compliance matters, securing approvals for waivers or issuing covenant default letters as needed.
  • Third-Party Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of third-party reports such as appraisals, environmental assessments, and property condition reports.
  • Past Due Loans: Support Loan Administrator in managing past due loans and collection of tickler items.
  • Client Relationships: Accompany bank staff on sales calls when appropriate, fostering client relationships and promoting business development initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to ongoing staff training efforts, sharing expertise and insights to enhance team capabilities and performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred; advanced degree advantageous.
  • Experience: Five or more years of credit analysis and/or commercial lending experience in banking or equivalent business-related experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated customer service skills, proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
