Your responsibilities will include ensuring the accurate compounding, dispensing, reviewing, and verifying of prescribed medications in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. You will support the pharmacy's operational efficiency and assist the pharmacy manager in identifying strategies to enhance financial performance, inventory control, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement:
Interact with customers and patients by welcoming them and providing assistance with products and services. Address customer concerns promptly and respond to inquiries to ensure a positive experience.
Demonstrate and share exemplary customer service practices with team members to create a memorable customer experience, emphasizing interpersonal skills (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and service traits (e.g., proactive assistance, identifying needs, ensuring satisfaction).
Operational Duties:
Provide counsel to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, interactions, and privacy concerns. Refer patients to medical providers as necessary to ensure correct medication use and address health needs.
Ensure pharmacy operations comply with regulations and company standards. Assist the pharmacy manager in establishing efficient workflow procedures, including role assignments and activity coordination.
Oversee pharmacy opening and closing procedures and shift change responsibilities.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy-related technology and systems to support both customers and pharmacy staff. Propose enhancements to pharmacy systems to improve productivity.
Engage with medical providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, and interactions, and to suggest alternative medications when necessary.
Conduct wellness services such as immunizations and preventive healthcare initiatives.
Assist the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance metrics, including financial data and customer service outcomes, and implement procedures for asset protection and inventory management.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, and participate in community outreach to promote pharmacy services and growth opportunities.
Collaborate with Central Pharmacy Operations for customer registration and third-party reviews, assisting in resolving customer issues to support overall service excellence.
Team Management:
Support the pharmacy manager in staff recruitment and training.
Reinforce the pharmacy manager's directives regarding staff performance through coaching, feedback, and monitoring of customer service standards.
Encourage teamwork and motivate team members by setting clear expectations, tracking progress, and fostering a shared vision.Professional Development:
Stay informed about pharmacy and healthcare advancements by reading relevant journals and company communications. Maintain awareness of industry developments and pursue best practices to enhance performance.
Obtain necessary certifications and training as required by the company, and seek professional growth through performance monitoring and feedback from supervisors.
Communication:
Assist the pharmacy manager and store manager by communicating important corporate health and wellness information to pharmacy staff.
