Position Overview


The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a pivotal role in partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), tasked with ensuring the seamless and effective daily management of the designated healthcare facility.

The COO will oversee various departments and functions within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

The COO is entrusted with the following critical responsibilities, which encompass but are not limited to:
  • Hospital Performance: Accountable for the operational success of the assigned departments, the COO will devise and implement strategic initiatives to meet performance goals across the domains of patient safety, service quality, and financial health.
  • Patient Safety & Quality: Responsible for fostering a clinical environment that prioritizes safety and efficiency, ensuring that patient outcomes are consistently met in a cost-effective manner.
  • Accreditation Compliance: Ensure adherence to all standards set by regulatory and accrediting bodies, maintaining readiness for evaluations at all times.
  • Service & Engagement: Enhance employee and patient engagement, cultivating loyalty and satisfaction within the hospital community.
  • Financial Stewardship: Develop and maintain an operational culture that emphasizes efficiency and cost-effectiveness, achieving financial performance targets.
  • Medical Staff Relations: Build and sustain meaningful partnerships with medical staff and healthcare providers.
  • Market Relevance: Actively participate in strategic planning to enhance the hospital's role within the community.
  • Corporate Citizenship: Uphold the highest standards of corporate responsibility, collaborating effectively within the healthcare system.
  • Community Engagement: Maintain a professional demeanor that reflects the organization's values and foster positive relationships with community stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Education:
