Job Title: Senior Software Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Infrastructure Engineer to join our Satellite Ground Systems team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the software infrastructure required for the operation and management of satellite ground systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement software infrastructure for satellite ground systems, including the development of tools, applications, and frameworks needed for system operation and data processing.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the software infrastructure, including design documents, user manuals, and system administration guides.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to engineers needing infrastructure assistance.
  • Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the software infrastructure by identifying and implementing enhancements and optimizations.
Requirements:
  • Five (5) years of experience with Information Technology Infrastructure and/or Software Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of experience with the Linux platform.
  • Development experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Groovy.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI Full Scope Poly (FSP) U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date with the adjudication date less than three years ago from your starting date for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VMWare and AWS.
  • Software development experience in Java with unit testing and integration testing experience.
  • Knowledge of satellite ground systems, space operations, or related domains is highly desirable.
  • Experience with networking, distributed systems, and cloud computing technologies.
  • Experience with Puppet.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices, especially in a defense or aerospace setting.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Packer, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.
