Job Description

Brooksource is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our cloud environment team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS and be well-versed in cloud-native principles. This role requires participation in an on-call rotation, with the assurance that it won't drastically impact personal time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies for observability versus monitoring within our organization.
  • Take full ownership of services from development through production.
  • Collaborate with other teams to determine Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  • Experience with monitoring tools is essential.
  • Must have experience with Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
Requirements
  • Must have experience with AWS services and tools.
  • Proficient understanding of what it means to be cloud-native.
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams.
  • Experience with monitoring tools is essential.

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of service mesh architectures is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Argo CD for continuous delivery would be advantageous.

  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Real User Monitoring (RUM) would be a plus.
Performance Expectations
  • The candidate should be capable of developing strategies for observability versus monitoring within our organization.
  • Will be expected to take full ownership of services from development through production.
Experience Requirements
  • This position is aimed at principal or senior-level candidates who bring significant years of experience in site reliability engineering within a cloud environment.
Additional Qualifications
  • Proven track record of building a team from scratch and deploying observability solutions effectively, particularly within digital value streams.
