Facility Cleaning Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision, carry out standard cleaning operations to maintain a tidy and welcoming environment at all times. This is a part-time, unionized, event-related role. Candidates must be available for overnight and weekend shifts.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage in the cleaning of various rooms and areas within the facility, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming carpets, and disposing of waste properly. Maintain restrooms, restock supplies as necessary, and address stains as needed.
Clean windows, both inside and outside the facility. Assist in the sorting of recyclables from waste and ensure proper disposal of these materials. Maintain and clean other equipment and areas as directed. Operate a walkie-talkie radio when required. Present a neat and professional appearance at all times during work hours.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED is required. Previous experience in similar roles is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proficient in using small to medium-sized powered cleaning equipment (vacuums, blowers, window washing tools, etc.). Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Capable of reading and understanding GHS Chemical Safety Program & SDS sheets to use required chemicals safely.
Must be able to work safely from ladders and small lifts as needed to complete assigned tasks. Qualified to operate various types of large powered cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, buffers, sweepers, and carpet extraction units) or willing to complete required training for operation.
Flexibility to work various hours, including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be able to read, write, and speak in English. Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance. Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. This position requires lifting at least 50 lbs. without assistance. It also requires walking and standing for most of the assigned shift, as well as bending and stooping.
These tasks may be performed in challenging conditions at times (loud noise, dust, inclement weather, and moving vehicles may be present). The position also requires climbing and descending steps/stairways with necessary equipment to complete assigned cleaning tasks. Union dues/fees shall apply.
