Job Title: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner First Assist/LSAJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner First Assist/LSA to join our team at Mpower Healthcare. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including spine surgery and orthopedic surgery.
  • Confirm cases with the surgeon or facility the evening before.
  • Meet patients in the preoperative area, explain your involvement in the surgery, and obtain all necessary documentation and consents.
  • Communicate with OR staff regarding surgeon preferences and assist with patient positioning.
  • Work collaboratively with OR and facility staff to ensure smooth surgical procedures.
  • Provide quality surgical assisting, including learning surgeon preferences, anticipating next steps, and problem-solving challenges.
  • Assist with patient transitions, escort patients to PACU, and provide sign-out to PACU staff.
  • Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Participate in clinical/management projects to improve team performance and patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an Accredited Master's Degree program for Physician Assistant Studies or a Master/Doctoral Degree Program in Nurse Practitioner Studies.
  • Current state license and National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PAs.
  • At least one year of surgical experience required.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office and EMR.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a customer service-oriented mindset.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience assisting in spine surgery and orthopedic surgery.
  • Robotics experience (General, Gyn).
  • Ability to function independently, autonomously, and confidently.
Physical Requirements:

Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodations, including lifting, sitting, standing, or squatting.
