Job Summary

The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with other medical professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. This role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a physician, performing specific services to meet the personal needs and comforts of patients. The Medical Assistant must understand the needs of the practice and support the mission and values of WakeMed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the direction of a physician
  • Perform specific services to meet the personal needs and comforts of patients
  • Support the mission and values of WakeMed
  • Meet the requirements for registration/certification with one of the following organizations: American Academy of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Center for Competency Testing
Requirements
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
  • Graduate Medical Assisting (preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant (required within 24 months of hire)
Work Schedule

Varying hours, Monday through Friday

No weekends or call requirements
