Experience
3 years of phlebotomy and processing experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
This role is accountable for the non-technical oversight of laboratory operations within the Medical Group. The position will specifically lead phlebotomy, courier services, and customer support.
This encompasses, but is not limited to, strategic planning for each area, building effective teams, evaluating engagement with third-party vendors (when applicable), and taking ownership of outcomes across these responsibilities.
Supervises phlebotomy operations at practice sites, customer service, and third-party courier personnel across all Medical Group locations.
Oversees staff and ensures appropriate staffing levels, including hiring/onboarding, performance evaluation, coaching, and employee development, ensuring productivity, quality of work, and alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
Ensures adherence to all policies and financial stewardship by maintaining accountability for the financial integrity surrounding the development and upkeep of the departmental budget.
Quality and Regulatory Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, aligns, and reviews operating policies and procedures for phlebotomy, ensuring compliance with both organizational policies and regulatory agency requirements.
Assists and supports the Medical Group's quality assurance program, including quality control, preventive maintenance, safety programs, data management, and service quality with a focus on process improvement.
Evaluates and introduces new products for quality, effectiveness, safety, and cost management.
Promotes and practices high-quality customer service.
Finance, Budget, and Capital:
Responsible for budget recommendations regarding capital expenditures, operating expenses, and revenue.
Continuously monitors, analyzes, and corrects budget variances. Assesses fiscal needs and prepares justifications as necessary.
Ensures staff provides accurate data, reporting, and billing.
Oversees all Medical Group courier vendor logistics and associated project teams to enhance customer care and meet business requirements.
Collaborates directly with IT and Ambulatory departments to ensure various systems (i.e., Epic/Beaker) are developed and maintained for the Medical Group.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
