Line Cook

The Line Cook position is a key role in our kitchen team, responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking food products to the highest standards. As a valued member of our team, you will work closely with our chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that every dish that leaves our kitchen meets our quality and presentation expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Follows recipes and plate specifications to prepare and cook soups, meats, seafood, sauces, vegetables, desserts, and other food products.
- Inspects food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
- Tests foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as smelling or temping with thermometers.
- Quickly and correctly portions, arranges, and garnishes food, and serves food to servers.
- Regulates temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and fryers.
- Seasons and cooks food according to recipes or specification.
- Substitutes for or assists other cooks during peak business periods.
- Turns or stirs foods to ensure even cooking.
- Adheres to timing standards for products and services.
- Shows sense of urgency by following timing guidelines.
- Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Maintains a clean working space.
- Follows daily cleaning calendar tasks.
- Previous restaurant experience desired.
- Four-day training program including reading, observation, assisting, testing, hands-on, and evaluation.
- Passing of final testing and management evaluation prior to assuming job responsibilities.
- Must be able to clearly communicate with service staff and managers.
- Must be able to read tickets and modifications.
