The technician is expected to exhibit safe working practices and comply with the policies and procedures of Schwan Cosmetics USA, Inc.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Engage in diagnosing fully automated machinery and equipment to identify root causes of operational downtime or quality concerns, and perform necessary repairs to restore equipment functionality. Utilize advanced wiring techniques and operate shop machinery such as horizontal milling machines, conventional lathes, horizontal grinders, and drill presses for repair, fabrication, or adjustment of equipment. (45% of time)
- Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance: Conduct comprehensive electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, resolve electrical issues, and maintain thorough records and documentation pertaining to tests, maintenance, modifications, and repairs. Program advanced PLCs during installation, programming, and troubleshooting phases. (20% of time)
- Adherence to Procedures: Follow established testing, maintenance, and installation protocols. Assist in the formulation of procedures or the evaluation of electrical systems where existing protocols are insufficient or absent. (15% of time)
- Continuous Improvement Participation: Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives and propose enhancements and modifications to equipment to boost performance. (10% of time)
- Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures. Aid in maintaining an adequate inventory of electrical spare parts and ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards. (5% of time)
- Additional Duties: Carry out other responsibilities as assigned. (5% of time)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Vocational Certificate in electrical maintenance, industrial electricity, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, intermediate to complex electrical schematics, and utilizing precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, scales, etc.) is essential. Must demonstrate intermediate mathematical principles and formulas and perform advanced electrical calculations. Proficiency in speaking, reading, comprehending, and writing in English is required.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance or a related field, or a comparable combination of knowledge and experience.
Core Competencies: Intermediate mathematical skills, basic computer knowledge and experience, electrical expertise, problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, initiative, teamwork, effective communication, decision-making, and collaboration.
