Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As an Ultrasound Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in performing and assisting in ultrasound examinations, rendering technical assistance to radiologists, and maintaining and caring for all ultrasound equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultrasound Examinations: Perform or assist in ultrasound examinations, verifying patient identity and obtaining health status and medical history.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, clean and make minor adjustments, taking safety precautions necessary to protect patients and personnel from electric shock or other hazards.
  • Patient Care: Prepare and examine patients, communicating with patients, their representatives, and staff to explain exams and instructions.
  • Procedure Planning: Develop and/or modify procedure plans from health status and medical history, using age and gender appropriate considerations.
  • Image Analysis: Analyze sonographic findings to obtain comprehensive exams sufficient for a physician to direct patient management and render a diagnosis.
  • Record Keeping: Record diagnostic images and data for use by the interpreting physician in rendering a diagnosis and for archival purposes.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist in the orientation and mentor new Ultrasound personnel, and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of office and administrative practices
  • Skill in use of personal computers and software
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion
