Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CSS Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a CSS Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining a high level of quality and safety in our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Process and assemble instruments and supplies in preparation for surgical procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Conduct quality control testing and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of instruments and equipment.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience as a central service technician in a healthcare facility or certification as a registered central service technician.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds repetitively and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent knowledge of operating room surgical instrumentation and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as a registered central service technician or certified sterile processing and distribution technician.
  • Experience with sterilization equipment and quality control testing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
