Job Summary

The Paul Cuffee School is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Coach to join our Junior Varsity Basketball team. As an Assistant Coach, you will assist the Head Coach in organizing and directing the team's practices and competitions. You will also be responsible for instructing players in the rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices and competitions
  • Instruct players in the rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport
  • Assess players' skills and provide feedback to the Head Coach
  • Assist with determining game strategy
  • Supervise athletes during practices and competitions
  • Maintain equipment and supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Coordinator
Requirements
  • Experience as an Assistant Coach at the high school or college level
  • Effective coaching techniques and skills
  • Knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students
  • Meet RILL coaching requirements
  • Complete a CPR/First Aid course upon hire, if not currently certified
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • National background check (after offer)
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
