Job Overview

CareSTL Health is actively searching for dedicated, empathetic, and industrious Clinical Nurses to become integral members of our healthcare team.


POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Nurse is accountable to the Department Director and is expected to demonstrate clinical proficiency. This role involves delivering patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The Clinical Nurse will effectively engage with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals while upholding the standards of professional nursing practice.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties define essential functions but do not limit the tasks that may be assigned. The Clinical Nurse may be reassigned responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or staffing needs.

  • Oversees and guides less experienced nursing or healthcare personnel, or manages a specific unit during a shift.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and treatments, providing necessary assistance.
  • Evaluates the needs of individuals, families, and communities, including assessing home and work environments to identify potential health or safety concerns.
  • Educates individuals, families, and groups on health topics, disease prevention, and wellness, while developing health improvement initiatives.
  • Prepares examination rooms, sterilizes instruments, and ensures that medical supplies are adequately stocked.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Administers medications and treatments via various routes, including oral and intravenous.
  • Conducts laboratory tests as per CareSTL Health's Policies and Procedures under physician guidance.
  • Leads and coordinates infection control initiatives, providing advice and consultation to relevant personnel.
  • Facilitates training and instruction for auxiliary staff and community stakeholders.
  • Refers patients to specialized health resources or community services as needed.
  • Consults with institutions or organizations regarding nursing practice and professional concerns.
  • Collaborates with individuals, groups, and families to design and implement programs aimed at enhancing community health outcomes.
  • Communicates effectively with all staff, patients, and families, demonstrating excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Missouri is mandatory.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS) is essential.
  • Current CPR Certification is required.

Experience:

  • 0-5 years of experience in a Community Health Center setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practices for holistic patient care.
  • Understanding of information and techniques for delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Familiarity with administrative and office procedures, including electronic communication.
  • Competence in computer skills, including office procedures and terminology.
  • Strong self-motivation and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Willingness to work across all health center locations.

TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Must possess reliable transportation.

  • Clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
