Diagnostic Imaging Technologist

At Northwestern Medicine, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a positive work environment. As a Diagnostic Imaging Tech-MRI, you will play a vital role in supporting the MRI department at Lake Forest Hospital. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Sunday to Thursday, 10:30pm to 7am.
Responsibilities:- Assist and interact with patients in the radiology department, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Verify patient identity using two identifiers and transport patients to and from the department as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and visitors, providing clear instructions and support.
- Prepare patients for exams, position and immobilize them on the examining table, and assist radiologists and technologists in acquiring quality exams.
- Assist with minor procedures, disconnect IV tubing, and support radiologists with interventional procedures.
- Compile and prepare radiology exams for reading by the radiologist, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Perform various tasks to support the effective operations of the radiology department, including preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining changing areas.
- Process requests for radiology films and ensure exams are accurately tracked in the computer system.
- Adhere to JCAHO and Safety standards, as well as recommended Infection Control procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of specialized or technical training, or equivalent
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull force up to 50 pounds
