About the UCR Library:
Our library is committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, providing exceptional services to our students, faculty, and community members in a rapidly changing information landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable and technologically adept cataloger, dedicated to addressing challenges in local, regional, and national contexts. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting original and copy cataloging and metadata creation for various resources, including monographs, continuing resources, collections, and digital objects.
  • Utilizing standard library technologies and cataloging/metadata tools and standards.
  • Working with the Library's Integrated Library System (ILS) and digital asset management systems.
  • Participating in special projects focused on metadata creation, catalog maintenance, and quality assurance.

Operational Excellence:
The ADD department emphasizes the development and enhancement of repeatable, well-documented processes to ensure efficient and sustainable metadata creation and maintenance. Our commitment to best practices and superior customer service is paramount.

Collaboration and Communication:

Compensation:
The salary range for the Metadata Specialist position is $58,000 to $85,921.20 annually, based on various factors including education, experience, and organizational needs.
