Surgical Services Executive - RN ($125K-$183K)
Location: Riverside, California
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
- A minimum of 5 years in Clinical Nursing, with at least 3 years in Management or Leadership roles
- Current California Registered Nurse licensure
- Certification in Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) is advantageous
Position Overview:
- Identify and address actual or potential challenges impacting the surgical services, implementing effective solutions with clear communication.
- Engage actively in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees, ensuring ongoing communication with stakeholders.
- Enhance the patient experience within Surgical Services.
- Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to team members, facilitating their professional development and documenting performance.
- Comply with all Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively regarding departmental, organizational, and industry updates to staff.
- Implement evidence-based practices to foster employee engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships and networks to achieve organizational and departmental objectives.
- Participate in employee and patient rounding, identifying and nurturing potential future leaders.
- Enforce standards of care for surgical services, developing processes to ensure consistent compliance.
- Design, implement, and assess a comprehensive surgical services program that guarantees quality patient care aligned with the hospital's mission.
- Monitor adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and hospital policies, ensuring safety for patients and personnel.
- Oversee a Performance Improvement (PI) program that continuously evaluates critical care aspects.
- Ensure operational excellence within the department by delivering quality services in accordance with established policies and professional standards.
- Adhere to the Hospital Exposure Control Plans regarding Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Implement safe procedural site and patient verification protocols.
- Monitor and respond to quality event reporting effectively.
- Support the development of new program strategies and enhancements to expand patient services.
- Prioritize and advocate for capital equipment requests.
- Manage the department's budget, ensuring optimal use of financial resources.
- Drive the growth agenda for Surgical Services.
- Aim to establish the operating room as the preferred choice for physicians, patients, staff, and payers in the community.
- Exhibit a composed and confident demeanor that inspires respect within the organization and the community.
- Develop and cultivate strategic internal and external networks.
- Encourage consistent positive patient interactions that promote exceptional patient service.
- Adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and the "Mission and Value Statement" of the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in nursing required
· Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
· Over 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice, in accordance with legal regulations required
· Certification in Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
· Certification as a Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred
