The Project Engineer will manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring that products and processes align with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and report any unsafe practices to management.
- Engage in proactive teamwork to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Oversee and execute capital projects within defined scope, budget, and timelines.
- Manage cash flow forecasts to maintain the regional capital budget.
- Provide leadership and project management expertise to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Plan and supervise equipment start-up and commissioning processes.
- Collaborate with the team to establish strategic partnerships in construction and engineering.
- Utilize technical knowledge to identify opportunities for cost savings, lead-time reductions, and quality enhancements while prioritizing employee safety.

- Develop process and instrumentation diagrams, layouts, equipment lists, and project schedules.
- Conduct engineering calculations related to material and energy balances, equipment sizing, and structural design.
- Provide effective oversight and management support for contractors.
- Offer engineering services and expertise to maintenance and operations teams.
- Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress.
- Document projects and processes, providing necessary training to support various departments.
- Maintain project records in accordance with established policies.
- Consult with operations and maintenance teams to ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster strong working relationships with management and staff.
- Prepare and approve cost estimates for capital projects.
- Review and authorize project invoices.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, including commitments and forecasts.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, preferably in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or civil engineering.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong background in designing manufacturing plants and process lines, with the ability to create engineering documentation.
- Preferred certification in Project Management.
- Experience in solids handling, environmental compliance, and instrumentation is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong mathematical skills for various engineering calculations.
- Ability to analyze data and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficient in project management and technical software.
