Role Summary and Qualifications

OUTPATIENT PEDIATRICS

The Speech Language Pathologist delivers exceptional, patient-focused care by designing and implementing tailored therapy programs for individuals with communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges. As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Speech Language Pathologist conducts thorough patient evaluations and sets relevant treatment objectives. This role also involves educating patients, families, students, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech and language capabilities through informal conversations and standardized tests.
  • Develop and execute personalized therapy plans aimed at enhancing communication skills.
  • Regularly assess patient progress during therapy sessions and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, including notes, charges, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and medical staff regarding patient assessments and placement decisions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is preferred.

Licensure/Certifications: Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Experience: Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

No travel required.
