Controller - Hedge Fund and Private Equity Fund Specialist

A leading investment firm, Atlantic Group, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join their growing team. The successful candidate will oversee the entire accounting function for the direct lending fund, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Responsibilities:- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.
- Work closely with the fund administrator to ensure accurate recording of investment activity, capital transactions (subscriptions, capital calls, redemptions, distributions), and management fees.
- Calculate and track key fund metrics, including Net Asset Value (NAV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and portfolio performance.
- Prepare and review investor capital account statements and distribute them on a timely basis.
- Support the preparation of tax filings and work with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory requirements for direct lending funds.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and internal controls.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.
- CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within a hedge fund or private equity of fund or any strategy (Credit not a requirement).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles as applied to private investment funds.
- Proven experience with financial reporting for complex investment structures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
