Position Overview:


Engage in a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to support the designated area, including but not limited to gathering patient information, documenting medical histories, assisting with treatment procedures, preparing instruments for sterilization, maintaining a clean work environment, coordinating and scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage.

Responsibilities may also encompass various clerical tasks, including basic cashiering functions. Ensure compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care responsibilities may span neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • PATIENT SAFETY: Adhere to safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • RELATED WORK: Execute related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • PATIENT SAFETY: Proactively seek opportunities to enhance patient safety by questioning existing policies and processes.
  • CASHIER: Perform basic cashiering tasks; collect payments for various services; reconcile and balance cash register.
  • PATIENT SAFETY: Identify and report environmental conditions that may pose risks to patients.
  • PATIENT SAFETY: Timely report potential or actual patient safety issues, medical errors, or near misses.
  • PATIENT SAFETY: Encourage patient involvement in their care by promoting questions and reporting any concerns.
  • PATIENT CARE: Assist in the preparation for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges; process prescription requests; support providers with various treatment procedures, including setting up sterile fields.
  • PATIENT CARE: Conduct routine non-invasive treatment procedures, including vital signs monitoring and patient data collection; report any changes in patient condition to appropriate personnel.
  • DATA MANAGEMENT: Input and verify data in computer systems; schedule patient appointments; manage phone communications and messages.
  • ENVIRONMENT: Maintain cleanliness in patient care areas, equipment, and instruments; report equipment issues; manage supply inventory.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: Deliver quality service and ensure patient satisfaction.
  • MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION: Administer medications according to established protocols; document and communicate clinical findings.
  • PATIENT CENTERED MEDICAL HOME: Promote the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Specialty Practice as applicable.

CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
