The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a highly skilled Pulmonary Medicine Specialist to join its Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing patients with Lung Transplantation and have interest and skill in managing patients with Interstitial Lung Diseases, Pulmonary Hypertension, or other pulmonary diseases.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaborative skills, as well as the ability to act as a close liaison with other team members, including CT surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, fellows and residents, clinical pharmacists, social workers, clinical psychologists, and financial counselors.

The selected candidate will report directly to the Division Chief and work cooperatively with the Medical Director of the Transplant team. He/she must work effectively in a close teamwork setting and be flexible, solutions-oriented, and intellectually curious.

Administrative roles for this position will involve co-managing the Transplant Team with the Medical Director, including oversight of other team members, including a coordinator, nurse practitioner, and rotating fellow.

The division is actively involved in the training and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and the candidate will be expected to have responsibilities in those areas.

Applicants must hold an MD or DO degree and be BC/BE in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. Candidates must have successfully completed fellowship training in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine. Completion of an additional year of Lung Transplant Fellowship is preferred but not required.
