About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and communication skills. As an Employment Coach, you will be working closely with participants to help them achieve their employment goals and overcome barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective coaching strategies to support participants in achieving their employment goals.
  • Collaborate with the case management team to ensure that all activities are aligned with the mission, vision, values, and brand of Goodwill NCW.
  • Provide training and support to participants on job skills and soft skills to meet employment standards.
  • Identify participant strengths, interests, and needs to determine the most suitable training methods and serve as an advocate for participants.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, employers, and other stakeholders to ensure that skills instruction support meets the specific needs of each participant.
  • Observe participant performance and behavior and complete required documentation within expected timeframes.
  • Manage own timecard, mileage, and expense tracking to ensure records are accurate and completed within expected timeframes.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with Goodwill NCW team members, participants, families, and employers to ensure consistent support for participants.
  • Participate in accrediting, licensing, and funding audit meetings as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least six months' experience working with individuals with barriers is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required to travel to multiple locations.
  • Possess a reliable vehicle with at least $100,000 each person, $300,000 each accident/occurrence auto insurance coverage is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to observe, redirect, and document effectively.
  • Ability to engage effectively in speaking and active listening.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to give clear instruction or directions to others.
  • Ability to utilize body language or gesture when communication barriers exist.
  • Considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others.
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work various hours which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to adjust to the changing needs of the department and organization and willingness to jump in and help where needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in various environments with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.
  • Primary function requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in varying settings; to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
  • Verbally communicate to exchange information.
