About the Role

Kansas faces significant water-related challenges, including depletion of the High Plains Aquifer, sedimentation of reservoirs, and degraded quality of surface and groundwater. This position will develop a research program on water resource problems as they relate to agriculture and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver nationally recognized research programs focused on water resource economics.
  • Design and implement extension programs that address relevant issues for stakeholders and agencies.
  • Lead collaborative interdisciplinary initiatives with faculty across the university.
  • Advise and direct research by graduate students.
  • Attract grant funds to support research and extension programs.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in agricultural economics, applied economics, or closely related field.
  • Strong record of academic achievement and desire to develop a renowned research program.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Salary Range

$105,000 - $125,000 annually.
